Lori Whitlock September Blog Hop!

Welcome to another blog hop! These hops are so fun to do and I am honored to be a part of such a talented group of ladies. I wanted to go with a fall theme for my layout and, of course, when I think of fall I think "pumpkin" everything! I couldn't help but put together a page displaying these delicious pumpkin cinnamon rolls I made last year. You really should go make these right now; click here for full recipe at smittenkitchen.com.

2014 Planner | Lori Whitlock Creative Team

Hello! If you are visiting from Lori Whilock's blog, welcome. Today I am sharing with you the beginnings of the Lori Whitlock 2014 planner that I will make for myself. At the end of this post I have a tutorial so that you can make your own!

Here is how recolored and decorated my planner pages:
**Full disclaimer here: I am not very familiar with PDF files and Photoshop. This is how I used them, I am sure there might be easier ways out there :)

1. Open Planner PDF file in Photoshop. A window like this should appear:
Go ahead and select which page(s) you want to work on. I just selected one to demonstrate here. Click OK. This is what your file will look like once it's opened it Photoshop:

2. Next, we want the background to be white. The first step is to make a new layer:
Then, you are going to switch your layers so that your new layer is now your background. It should look like this now:
Now that your "layer 2" is the behind your document select the paint bucket (make sure white is your foreground color) and fill that background layer. Now the document should look like this:

3. Here comes the fun part: recoloring and decorating! I recolored the month text using the color picker and paint bucket tools:
I also added several elements from Lori Whitlock's For the Record 2 kit:

Go on over and pick up the 2014 planner right now! You have a long time to work on it and make it your own. Soon there will be an add-on kit released with divider pages and a cover!

Our Summer Bucket List | Lori Whitlock Summer Blog Hop

Welcome to the next stop in the Blog Hop! For my summer project I decided to make a quick and easy Summer Bucket List. Since J and I don't have kids or jobs that really change in the summer we can't be very ambitious with our list :) Even so, there are definitely a few key things I plan to do this summer and it was fun to put this project together.

I plan on printing these out in 8x8 prints and slipping them into my project life album.

Supplies Used:
Echo Park Sweet Girl Complete Collection (designed by Lori Whitlock)

Be sure to go check out Kim Lund's blog for the next stop in the hop!

Digital Project Life 2013: Week 21+insert and Week 22

These two weeks are the start of changing up my regular routine again... and it feels good! I usually take a photo every day and then place each photo from Mon-Sun in the same regular spot. However, now I am not concentrating on taking a photo every single day and instead taking pictures of what feels right to document. For week 21 I had a lot of instagram photos to work with so I used a different template to accommodate and for week 22 I used a lot of templates and white space to add text with my photos.

WEEK 21:

Things to note: For the left side I used a Lori Whitlock template to accommodate all the instagram pictures I had taken that week. I also used journaling cards from the Cinnamon edition. Also, see below for the 8x8 insert I put together to display all the extra wedding photos from that week.

Week 21 Wedding Insert (8x8):

Templates used: Lori Whitlock Basic Life Templates: Set 14, Set 9

WEEK 22:

Things to note: I love, love the brightness and cheeriness in this layout (thank you, Honey Edition!). I also love how I was able to tie the two pages together using templates and white space. As for pictures, I love the rainbow picture I captured with my iPhone - it totally made my day!

Digital Project Life 2013: Weeks 18, 19, + 20

Another big post here for you. We went on vacation in the middle of May and had a wonderful time (see pictures below). Hope you enjoy this little snapshot of our lives over the last few weeks.

WEEK 18:

Things to note: The usual "goals" and calendar card are here for the first month of May. I purposely made my goals a little more relaxed since this is the month we are went on vacation. The main goal was to RELAX :). I included a couple of screen shots from my iPhone: the one on the first page is of my Starbucks app - I love that I can pay with my phone! The second one is of the weather from the Solar app - I love how stylish it is! (Of course my husband thinks it's silly!!)  Another thing I did this week is put simple text on each of the photos. I like how it helps the layout look uniform.

Favorite supplies: Seafoam kit, CZ tiny templates.

WEEK 19:

Things to note: You know how you have weeks that just don't feel "right"? This is one of those weeks, I don't love the arrangement or the layout very much but hey, it's done. I think some of it had to do with the fact that I put half of the week together before vacation and then finished the rest of the week when I came back.

WEEK 20:

Things to note: This is vacation week! As you can tell, not many photos or journaling. I kept it very simple and used only my favorite photos because I have already made a Shutterfly photo book that is 80 pages long of all my photos from the trip. I used Lori Whitlock templates this week because I love the options I have with them.

Lori Whitlock Creative Team | 4X6 & 3X4 Templates Set

New this weekend from Lori Whitlock at jessicasprague.com are these awesome 3x4 and 4x6 templates. I used them in this project-life style layout documenting our trip traveling to Australia last year. They are 30% off right now so go check them out!

I added circles to this image so that you could see exactly where I used the templates. I love how they added just a little "pop" to my pages here and there. I clipped some paper from the pink basics kit and the happy day kit from Lori Whitlock to each of the templates.

We took this three week trip with my parents and little sister to Australia over a year ago now. I took thousands of photos and have been wanting to make an album that can get most of those pictures off my computer and into a book. So here is the beginning, I'm just going to take it one day of the trip at a time or even one event at time and go from there. No rules except for getting pictures on pages!

My [current] plan is to use Project Life templates and Lori Whitlock life templates (love how many options I have with these!) and LW basic kits (pretty much anything with bold colors). I hope to make a beautiful, bright, and happy album.

Of course, my main goal is always to keep up with my weekly Project Life. So think of this album and my on-the-side job :)

Lori Whitlock Creative Team: Kraft Frames & Mothers Day Life Cards

Last Friday (April 26) Lori Whitlock released some new great products! I was gone all weekend and didn't get a chance to post these earlier.

This page uses elements from Lori Whitlock's Sweet Memories and Maggie kits. Also, I used a frame from the new Kraft Frames. And be sure to check out the Kraft Borders!

My next layout is one I will insert into my Project Life album in a few weeks. I used Lori's new Mother's Day Life cards and a few of the Kraft frames to make this layout with some of my favorite images of my mom and me.

Lori Whitlock Digital Creative Team!

I am very excited to announce that I am now part of the digital Lori Whitlock Creative Team! I feel so honored to be on this team and I can't wait to continue to grow my skills as a digital scrapbooker. Many of you know that I mainly do Project Life layouts - and OF COURSE I will continue do those but I also plan to make regular scrapbook pages and some other albums as well.

Today I am sharing with you my first layout. It is sized to 8.5x11 inches and I will insert it into my Project Life album. I love how this page turned out - this kit is absolutely gorgeous (but then isn't everything of Lori Whitlock's amazing?!). I used Lori Whitlock's new kit, Sweet Memories, available at JessicaSprague.com and through this weekend is 25% off!

Go on over to Lori Whitlock's blog to meet the other Creative Team members and see their amazing layouts. Also, be sure to join Lori's Facebook page so you can stay up to date on all new product.
